Jima
JimaWe aim to convey the charms of Gifu Prefecture to more people and instill pride in the locals for its attractions.
With this goal in mind, we initiated our activities in 2016.
Commitment to our products:
Seki-city, where I reside, is a town with a strong tradition of swordsmithing, earning it the moniker "town of cutlery." However, over time, the number of swordsmiths has declined, and young people express sentiments like, "There is nothing in this town but cutlery."Despite having a world-class tradition, it's becoming increasingly challenging for people to appreciate its splendor. I hope that the young individuals who will lead the next generation will come to love this town even more. Fueled by this sentiment, I took up the shears of this town to create something unique that aligns with the current times.
Since I intended to use a local tool, I selected Mino Japanese paper, a traditional craft from the neighboring town, as the cutting material. Mino Washi, still recognized as an intangible cultural heritage, is a traditional craft representative of Gifu, produced from the clear Nagara River and the rich nature of Gifu Prefecture.Just by looking at the Mino Washi supple, damage-resistant, delicate, and beautiful, I felt thrilled. However, I had an image of Washi = old-fashioned, I strive to create a new design that overturns the conventional image of Washi and is easy to incorporate into modern life.
The sharpness of Seki's scissors is excellent, allowing them to cut through the daily changes in washi, depending on the humidity and the way the paper is made, to give it the shape I desire. The sharpness of the shears varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. The difference is evident, unlike those produced in other prefectures or inexpensive ones.
Presently, I am endeavoring to create works that enable the viewer to feel the texture of washi even more.
We will deliver works that amplify the charm of Gifu Prefecture. -
Couen
CouenI research culture and language through the ancient tradition of musubi and express them in the mizuhiki strings of musubi. The history and story behind musubi, and the meaning behind musubi, are elaborately incorporated into the design of each piece as the intent of the production.
Mizuhiki is a traditional good-luck charm that can be used for both celebrations and everyday occasions. Mizuhiki is not just material but love and truth. Through mizuhiki, we hope that the world will become a kinder place. I am now using mizuhiki musubi to produce works of art while carefully dealing with every item that appears in our daily lives.</p>
Commitment to our products:
As I picked up various things related to the string called "mizuhiki," which is made of twisted Japanese paper, I realized that the dots I had vaguely held until then had become lines and that it was filled with important invisible things. Yes, the heart of Japan is love. By touching musubi and knowing musubi, you will surely resonate with it because it is inside all of us.
May karma be repeated and connected, and may the world become a kind and gentle place. May I now pass on the wisdom that my predecessors have passed on to me? -

zena
zenaWith the concept of "Fashionable Art, Artistic Fashion", zena's earrings are made using a traditional Japanese crafting technique called "Yosemono". This technique allows us to create earrings with a free expression of fascination in form. Inspired by the four seasons of Japan through the tea ceremony, I get my imagination from dancing how to express them beautifully and stylishly. Art meets Fashion, Fashion meets Art. I hope my jewelry will brighten your special day. Enchanting by Design - Ear Jewelry TokyoNao Takanashi was born in Tokyo. After graduating from Seikei University with a degree in Economics, Nao started working in the music industry because she wanted to work in a place where music is played. She was in charge of soundtracks and world music at an e-commerce company, where she was exposed to a lot of new and old music every day, and became interested in fashion and accessories that expressed the world of music through movies, music videos, and CD jackets. After retiring, in 2007, she started selling handmade accessories on her website, which became a permanent fixture in handmade stores nationwide. She has also provided her creations for commercials and costumes for TV magazines. We will learn brazing for more originality and move from handmade to craft.
