About Ecuadorian Coffee:
Coffee used to be Ecuador's largest export. In the 1980s, the country produced 60 kg x 2 million bags of Arabica and Robusta coffee annually.
However, due to the subsequent economic recession and the rise of more productive products such as bananas, shrimp, and fresh flowers, production in 2021 was reduced to one-eighth, amounting to 260,000 bags (about 1% of the world's production).
On the other hand, the fertile soil of the Andes Mountains and the temperature difference between day and night provide favorable environmental conditions. Expectations are high for this emerging specialty coffee country.
