Ninomiya is located in the southwestern part of Kanagawa Prefecture, about 70 km from Tokyo.

Kawase Bessui (1883-1957) was a printmaker active from the Taisho era to the Showa era. He loved traveling and sketched all over Japan, creating more than 600 woodblock prints.
His beautiful landscapes full of Japanese sentiment are now attracting renewed attention not only in Japan but also abroad.
It is said that Steve Jobs was so fascinated by Tomoe's works that he owned 25 of them.
