[What are Herkimer Diamonds?]
Herkimer Diamonds are crystals mined in the Herkimer area of New York State in the United States, which are very transparent and resemble diamonds.
They are said to be more beautiful than diamonds in rough comparisons, with their beautifully cut 18-sided double-pointed shape (double swords) and intense brilliance.
It is a rare and very popular gemstone, with only a small amount mined.
Although Herkimer diamonds are produced with high transparency, there are also crystals containing black inclusions from the formation process and crystals containing water that look like bubbles, which are also unique characteristics of Herkimer diamonds.
Due to the nature of the gemstones, there is a great deal of individual variation in the shape and crystal grains. Some stones may also have inclusions, etc., which are unique to natural stones. Please understand this in advance.
