The NARADOLLHIGASHIDA Hiina Series reimagines Hinamatsuri's origin, the Tale of Genji, in a contemporary rendition. This collection serves as a wedding gift, a birthday present, or a self-indulgent reward. The 'Scarlet Red' variant, a fundamental hue, exudes universal beauty.

Crafted entirely by hand, NARADOLLHIGASHIDA employs the Nara Itto-bori technique named for the profound dedication of the artist's soul carved into each stroke. This technique involves bold carving on large wood surfaces, delicately enhanced with Japanese paints and gold leaf.

Originating 800 years ago in Nara, Nara Itto-bori carving achieved artistic prominence during the Edo period (1603-1868) under master craftsman Morikawa Toen. Modern sculptor Hirakushi Tanaka greatly admired Toen's work, amassing a collection of Nara Itto-bori carvings.

NARADOLLHIGASHIDA diligently reexamines Nara Itto-bori carving, seeking to revive its original essence as an integral part of people's daily lives. Through thoughtful design integration, it harmonizes this ancient craft with contemporary aesthetics.

The Black Karasuboshi variant is also available for male dolls.
