What is a tuxedo dial?
The tuxedo dial was a typical dress watch. A dress watch is a wristwatch designed to be worn mainly at weddings, funerals, business, and other prestigious occasions.
They are simple, elegant watches designed to match perfectly with formal attire. A tuxedo dial is basically a dial plate with a concentric circle design of alternating shades of black and white. In the dress watch segment, it is considered "très chic" (French for "very fashionable"), as the name implies, and it remains a classic and staple.
Bull's eye dials are also known as bull's eye dials.
Bull's eye" means "target" in English because the pattern of concentric circles on the dial reminds us of a target. [It is sometimes referred to as an "Art Deco dial. Some say it is a synonym for tuxedo dial. Others distinguish tuxedo dials as having a limited black band and no luminescence, while others say that bullseye watches are highly visible and many vintage watches are closer to military watches, or that they are limited to a copper-colored dial with a black band. Some people say that bullseye watches are highly legible and are more like military watches among vintage watches, while others limit themselves to watches with a copper-colored dial and a black band. The conflicting elements are well mixed and have an appeal that will never fade away even in the modern age.
Tuxedo Copper Dial
The entire dial is a low-luster gold-copper color, with the KEYFORD logo and seconds train rails in the same formal black as the circular band that is the cornerstone of the tuxedo dial. The Arabic numeral indexes and seconds train rails are a reassuring pale orange, which completes the overall look. The silvered pencil hands, the same color as the case, are luminescent in the same color as the numerals.
