Collaboration to connect the traditional craft of "Aizu-gata" in Kitakata City, Fukushima Prefecture, to the next generation
[Aizu-gata" is a dyed paper pattern that was produced in Kitakata, Fukushima Prefecture from the end of the Edo period to the beginning of the Showa period and spread throughout the Tohoku region. Dyeing using stencils to create patterns on fabrics is called katazome (stencil dyeing), and Kitakata was a production center of stencil dyeing along with Ise Shirako, Kyoto, and Edo (Tokyo).

[While following the traditional designs and techniques preserved in the Aizu kata, we created this product using designs that are familiar to modern life, such as the "akabeko," which is widely used in the Tohoku region.

The handmade taste and the warmth of indigo are the charm of these designs. Each piece is filled with the thoughts of the artisans at Renga, and adds a new color to our lives.
