This cup is stable and easy to hold, suitable for use with anything from tea to coffee.

It's a product of Arita Porcelain Lab (Yazaemon Kiln), a well-established kiln in Arita. The cup's surface features a matte texture achieved using the "brush-wrapping" technique, an expert Arita porcelain method. Its interior has a smooth finish with a colored glaze. Modern, high-quality Arita-yaki porcelain is appreciated by people of all ages for personal use or as gifts.

The cup's lightly indented sides ensure easy grip and stability. Its name, "mallet," originates from the French term for "wooden hammer," inspired by its shape. The molding process, known as "mizukote," involves placing ceramic clay in a plaster mold and rotating it. The mold is then formed by sliding the clay with water while applying a trowel. Once dried, it's shaped by scraping. The finished piece undergoes unglazing at 920 degrees Celsius for two days. A unique glaze is applied by brush to the outside of each piece, followed by glazing the inside. The final stage involves reduction firing at 1,300 degrees Celsius for three days. This tableware reflects the delicate techniques of Arita-yaki porcelain and the meticulous work of its craftsmen.

There are two colors available for the inside: Pink and Navy Blue.
