    The first volume, "Edo Hyakkyo" is a comprehensive collection of illustrations depicting daily life in Edo, including the people, customs, daily utensils, and buildings of the city.
    [It is divided into four categories: "Portraits," "Everyday Life," "Dynamic Portraits," and "Encyclopedia of Tools. Learning from Hokusai, this book maximizes its appeal as a modern pictorial handbook.

    The book is full of caricature-like expressions, four-panel layouts, and dynamic depictions that give the impression of a story, which have greatly influenced the [MANGA] powerhouse of later generations.
