Embracing the challenge of developing hand towels as cooking utensils.

Our first product, a diatomaceous earth handkerchief, was crafted for comfortable handwashing outdoors, with a focus on preventing new coronavirus infections. The project's success, supported by many, contributes significantly to enhancing post-handwashing comfort. [I love how quick it dries, eliminating discomfort during use.] Such positive feedback truly delights us.

However, there were comments regarding product size and durability issues.

Achieving enhanced capacity: Our conventional product, a single-cell bag made of non-woven fabric, was manually sealed with powder and heat-sealed. Yet, increasing capacity using this structure resulted in impractical usage due to powder bias within a larger bag. To resolve this, we adopted equipment producing 10 cm square cells continuously. Consequently, we achieved lengths more than five times that of a handkerchief, reaching about 80 cm in the largest LL size, equivalent to a face towel's length. Even vertically, the powder bias is minimal, around 1 cm thick.

Enhanced durability realization: The non-woven fabric's structure comprises three layers: SB layer (surface strength), microfiber layer (preventing powder leakage), and SB layer (surface strength + heat welding). While our conventional product had a 1.5:1:1.5 thickness ratio for each layer, with the microfiber layer being thicker, this product features a 2.5:1:2.5 ratio, enhancing durability. A thicker SB layer on the surface bolsters strength, increasing it by approximately 1.4 times. Though some supporters replaced only the inner lining with our previous product, they were satisfied. However, we've further improved it for prolonged comfort.

From the pocket-sized S, convenient for carrying, to the LL, capable of enduring frequent hand washings during cooking, these towels offer comfort in various situations like outdoor activities and emergencies where laundering isn't viable.

The cover comprises COOLMAX®️EcoMade Fabric, breathable and quick-drying.

COOLMAX®️EcoMade Fabric is an unconventional polyester fiber with four grooves per fiber. Compared to regular fibers, EcoMade Fabric boasts a larger surface area, allowing faster moisture evaporation and capillary action, expelling moisture and humidity swiftly from the inside.

The exterior of the inner layer is a permeable non-woven fabric devoid of water, efficiently channeling moisture to the inside layer. It absorbs moisture from handwashing within 10 seconds.

Inside, diatomaceous earth and silica gel absorb moisture, encapsulated in powder form, maximizing material surface area for exceptional water absorbency despite its thinness.

The inner layer blends antibacterial ingredients zinc oxide and alum. Zinc oxide, used in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, and alum, a food additive, maintain a consistently clean towel, minimizing bacterial transfer after use.

Q: I'm concerned about the hardness and noise of the non-woven fabric during use. A: The non-woven fabric softens gradually with use, and the noise diminishes. Please continue using it as is.

Q: How often should I wash the cover? A: Daily washing is recommended. However, due to the inner lining's antibacterial effect, washing every few days is acceptable.

Q: Should I dry the inner lining in the sun? A: Simply place the innerwear in a well-ventilated area for drying. Sun drying isn't necessary.

Q: How long can the innerwear be used? A: Diatomaceous earth and silica gel inside the innerwear absorb and release moisture; the powder itself doesn't decrease. Alum decreases slightly due to a chemical reaction, but it's a minimal amount, usable for several years. Nonwoven fabrics last for 1 to 2 years (depending on usage environment). Over time, surface fibers may form, but if removed, the nonwoven fabric remains functional.

Q: What if the inner layer becomes stiff? A: It's likely the alum has solidified. Warm it up with a futon or hairdryer (above 60°C) to soften it.
