The "yama korai" (mountain berry) is a symbol for restoring health and is a good omen. According to ancient literature, it was customary for those who were seriously ill (with infectious diseases) to be thrown into the mountains, but if they ate this fruit, they were cured and returned home. [The name "Yamakigorai," meaning "coming back from the mountain," is a symbol of recovery of health and was regarded as a good omen. This rice bowl has a natural taste of hand-formed rice bowls. Kutani Bitoen's hand-formed Kutaniyaki is a unique design that focuses not only on the painting but also on the shape. This bowl comes in a pair with a tintype and an akae (red glaze), and is especially suitable for those who purchase a pair of them.

    Microwave-safe, dishwasher-safe

Please note that there may be some iron powders or pinholes on the surface of the ware because it is handmade.
