Size S size contains two types of letter paper made of Kozo fibers, folded in layers, so it can be used as a message card. Of course, it can also be used for letters.
The S size can hold a post guard, and the L size can hold A4 documents.

*L size comes with a Kozo paper strip label.

Bamboo Bound Envelopes S/L

This is one of KAKURA's representative products that has remained a standard for over 20 years. Each piece of bamboo is carefully selected, split, and shaved by hand.

[We went to a number of long-established bamboo shops to learn from them in order to create "Japanese stationery".

The sesame bamboos are split one by one with a machete, shaved to a certain thickness, and polished with wipe lacquer. The envelopes are cut straight without rounded glue allowance to resemble a folded furoshiki (wrapping cloth), and finished by hand-application.

Commitment to our products
The name "KAKURA" comes from the indigenous people [KAKURA tribe]. People are a part of nature, and the wisdom of the indigenous people who live by using its blessings as tools for daily life. This is where designer Yukari Ishihara found the meaning of "monozukuri" (craftsmanship). [Recreating what is important" = "developing products that resonate with people's hearts. We are committed to making products that people will love and want to use for a long time, and we spend a lot of time in our workshop to make them by hand every day.

Postscript
In the workshop, the staff members make suggestions to each other on a daily basis. Each one of us faces the material, learns about its characteristics, and goes through trial and error with a desire to improve. The very attitude toward work creates the face of the product. We are all aware that we can improve our sensitivity in the way we see and feel things, even from the most casual scenes in our daily lives.
