jiwajiwa's original tenugui hand towel with Nara and medicinal herb patterns.
The 100% cotton material is carefully dyed one by one by the traditional dyeing method called "Chusen".
Made in Nara, each item is carefully crafted by artisans in a workshop near the World Heritage Site of Horyu-ji Temple.
What is Chusen?
Chusen is a traditional Japanese dyeing technique often used for tenugui (hand towels).
The area not to be dyed is protected by a stencil, and the dye is poured inside a bank.
