Tsujigahana refers to a technique based on indigo dyeing that has continued traditionally in the kimono field since the Nara period (710-794). The indigo-dyed texture is reflected by a combination of the itchin technique and the dami technique, both of which give a three-dimensional effect. It is loved for its elegant and gentle texture.
