The Azuma bag is inspired by the Azuma bag, and is made by utilizing the straight lines of a kimono. The leftover cloth from making Meisen clothes is upcycled and used for the outer fabric, and the lining is made of silk pongee fabric. These bags are colorful, cute, and easy to use.

Azuma bags are a part of Japanese culture, and were first made by common people in the Edo period (1603-1867) who saw Westerners carrying bags and imitated them by sewing together furoshiki cloth and tenugui hand towels. Azuma" means "east," or "Edo as seen from Kyoto.
The name was given to the bags that the common people of Edo devised and made.
