Contrast of light and shadow in a pure white world

In winter in Akita, the days of sunlight are short and thick clouds cover the sky.
The sunlight that occasionally shines through in such winter is very impressive and even divine.

Kuro" is inspired by the long shadows cast by light on a silvery white world, and the contrast between light and shadow. The saw marks left when carving the wood are kept as much as possible, and the edge of the form is finished with a slightly glossy coating to make it stand out.
The result is an object with both beauty and power, like an abstract sculpture or modern art.
