This wooden mug is made of Japanese zelkova wood thinly ground on a potter's wheel.
It is a gem of a product that has been lacquered with wipe lacquer and gold, a rare metal, is applied to the grain of the wood using a luxurious maki-e technique.
It comes in a special wooden box, making it an ideal gift for VIPs.

The large diameter of the vessel allows it to hold a large amount of ice.
