Pierced earrings and clip-on earrings made of marquetry in collaboration with Shoka Kiln of Hosho-ji Ware.
The pieces were made by reusing the materials that were not used for products at the time of kiln release.

The wood from demolished houses and scraps from construction sites were used in order to preserve the wood.
The geometric pattern was created by taking advantage of the texture of the wood.
The product is finished with 100% natural wax, a blend of beeswax and plant-derived oil.

Care Instructions
When the luster is gone or scratches become noticeable, apply vegetable oil such as olive oil or camellia oil, and wipe with a dry cloth to restore the luster.

I want to take care of trees that have grown over decades and centuries. This is what I thought after working as a carpenter for 20 years.
Wood from demolished old houses and scraps from construction sites are disposed of as industrial waste.

I wanted to reduce the amount of wood that had grown over many years being thrown away, and I wanted to preserve it in a different form.
That is when I came across marquetry.
