[The name "Kikusada" was first used as a trade name by Sadakichi Koizumi, the fifth generation of Koizumi Seikawara, a tile manufacturer that has been in business for ten generations. Today, the brand name "Kikusada" is used to refer to the craftsmanship that Koizumi Seikawara has accumulated over the past ten generations.

The "shiki" series coasters are made using our tile-making technology, and the water-absorbing properties of the tiles absorb water droplets.
The gazen series of tableware also utilizes the same tile-making technology, but this time the water absorbency is suppressed by baking the tableware at the extreme temperature at which an oxidized film is formed.

I started cosora as a pearl shell artist with this one thought in mind.

I studied under Kazuhisa Sakai, a craftsman at Sakai Kougeisha, a shell craft company in Shima City, Mie Prefecture.
I am a pearl shell artist in a small workshop near the sea.

I would like to create works that are in tune with the current times by utilizing the traditional techniques of pearl shell cutting, polishing, and shaping that have been cultivated over the years.

We hope you will enjoy the warmth of our handmade products.
