[Kibitama] is a silk fabric made by twisting together two kinds of threads: kibiso, the outer skin of cocoons from which silk thread is made, and tama-yarn, which is produced from a single cocoon made by two silkworms working together.

Kibiso is hard, and tama-yarn has many knots formed by the entanglement of threads, making it difficult to handle, and thus it is a material that is relatively rare among silks. [Kibitama" is a cloth made by devising a method of making threads to make the cloth as easy to handle as possible. At first glance, it has the roughness of hemp, but as you touch it, you can feel the softness that fits in your hand, and the subtle luster gives it a very rare quality.

Size: 29 cm (width) / 13.5 cm (depth) / 45 cm (height)
It has a zipper on the side.

It comes in two colors, indigo and natural, both of which are dyed with plants and trees.
Indigo is woven into a border pattern using two shades of indigo yarn.
Natural is dyed using pentaphyllum, which is obtained from the nub of a tree in the poison oak family.

The inside of the bag is made of a bold cotton print. This cloth was originally made for Japanese futon mattresses, a Japanese textile from the 60s~80s.
