    This is a reissue of an item made in the 1970s for export, mainly to Scandinavia.
    The bottom has a rubber lid to take out money.
    The origin of the piggy bank is that in the old days in England, PIG, meaning pig, and PYGG, meaning red clay, were pronounced the same, so a craftsman mistook red clay (PYGG) for piggy bank (PIG) and created a piggy bank.
    The product name was purposely chosen as PYGG.
