This is a Ryukyu indigo-dyed chou chou born at the Rescape*, a hideaway resort on the east coast of Miyakojima Island.
It is made by Yoshinari Kakazu, who is the representative of LEQUIO, a fashion brand on the main island of Okinawa. Each piece of cloth is carefully dyed by hand using Ryukyu indigo, which Kakazu himself cultivated from seedlings in a wasteland he cleared and raised himself.
The "sazanami shibori", which is based on the image of waves coming and going, is also used for the cushions and bed throws that adorn the guest rooms at the rescape.
