A kabuto symbolizing a boy's growth. NARADOLLHIGASHIDA's Kabuto (headpiece) series boasts rich and uniquely vibrant colors. These striking hues can serve as interior decorations to embellish any room.
WAKAYOBA embodies the vigor of spontaneous growth, akin to the budding of spring.
NARADOLLHIGASHIDA products are entirely handmade, employing the Nara Itto-bori technique, named after the spirited carving of each sword. This method involves bold carving on large wood surfaces and delicate coloring using Japanese paints and gold leaf.
Originating 800 years ago in Nara, Nara Itto-bori carving ascended to an art form during the Edo period under master craftsman Morikawa Toen. Renowned Japanese sculptor Hirakushi Tanaka greatly admired Toen's work, amassing a collection of Nara Itto-bori carvings.
NARADOLLHIGASHIDA revisits Nara Itto-bori carving, aiming to revive its original significance in people's lives and harmonize it with modern design sensibilities.
