This is an end grain cutting board made by gluing together many smaller pieces of solid wood. It is useful when you want to cut a little condiment! I just want to cut some condiments! I only want to cut cheese! I want to make a stylish plate! This is for those who are particular about such things.
*Please allow up to one month for production after receiving your order. If we have it in stock, we will ship it as soon as possible.
*Because of the chaotic pattern, you cannot choose the size, ratio, or grain of the wood species used. There is a possibility that the cutting board will look different from the picture. If you are concerned about this, we will send you a photo of the actual item before shipping.
[What is an end grain cutting board?]
It is a type of cutting board that is considered the highest quality product in Europe and the United States. The cross section of the wood is called "end grain," and the name comes from the fact that the cross section of the wood is visible on the surface.

[Advantages]
The greatest merit of this product is that it can be designed as yosegi.
The straw-like fibers face upward, so that the blade of a knife can enter between the fibers, making it gentle to the knife. In addition, the cutting board surface is not easily damaged because the fibers soaked with oil (which serves to protect the wood) catch the knife blade, so the wood fibers are not cut when the blade is inserted.
[Disadvantages]
Maintenance with beeswax wax is required to take advantage of its merits.
[Is it safe?]
The adhesive is Titebond III, which is FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approved and food safe in the United States.
The finish is coated with food grade mineral oil and beeswax wax for excellent water repellency.
No pigments are used to color the wood, so you can enjoy the safety and natural texture of solid wood.
[Size]
Length 17.5 cm, width 12 cm, thickness 2.5 cm
Please note that there may be slight dimensional variations.
[Wood species used]
Maple, walnut, cherry, horse chestnut
[Note]
Even if the same wood is used to make the product, the color may differ slightly between the actual product and the photo.
The color will change over time due to the use of solid wood. Please enjoy the color change as the unique taste of solid wood.
Solid wood shrinks due to seasonal differences in temperature and humidity.
It may crack, warp, or bend depending on the environment in which it is used.
Cracking and warping cannot be 100% avoided because it is a natural material.
Hot water and chlorine disinfection are strictly prohibited.
Please wash with a neutral detergent and dry naturally after wiping off the moisture with a cloth.
Please keep it indoors out of the sun to avoid warping.
Since the wooden edge is visible on the surface, it requires more care than a normal cutting board, but with proper care, it can be used for a long period of time.
[Care]
When the surface becomes less water-repellent, rub beeswax wax into the surface.
If you use it daily, maintenance about 2 or 3 times a week will prolong its life.
A 30-second maintenance of applying wax with kitchen paper is sufficient to prolong its life.
