The NARADOLLHIGASHIDA Hiina Series reinterprets the origin of Hinamatsuri, inspired by the Tale of Genji, through a modern lens. This collection serves as a wedding or birthday gift, or a personal indulgence.

"The red-orange hue embodies the vibrancy and lively beauty that brighten any occasion.

Crafted entirely by hand, NARADOLLHIGASHIDA employs the Nara Itto-bori technique named for the soul infused into each sword. This technique involves bold carving on large wood surfaces and delicate coloring using Japanese paints and gold leaf.

Originating 800 years ago in Nara, Nara Itto-bori carving was elevated to an art form by master craftsman Morikawa Toen during the Edo period (1603-1868). Renowned sculptor Hirakushi Tanaka greatly admired Toen's work, amassing a collection of Nara Itto-bori carvings.

NARADOLLHIGASHIDA reexamines Nara Itto-bori carving, seeking its original essence that was once integral to people's lives, integrating designs to create products harmonizing with the modern era.

The Black Karasuboshi variant is also available for male dolls.
