    The main raw materials of PAPLUS® products are PLA (polylactic acid), which is mainly composed of lactic acid obtained by fermentation of corn starch, and paper.
    By using earth-friendly materials, PAPLUS® products have the unique texture of natural materials like ceramics and wood products, and we value the individuality of the colors and shades so that our products can be used with love and care.

    Design with Attention to Detail
    PAPLUS® Matte Tumbler Black is designed to be simple in order to bring out the unique texture of the material.
    The silhouette of the side of the tumbler is straightened by post-processing from the mold, and finally polished to a matte finish.

    ■Particular black color
    Black is a good match for PAPLUS® with its minimalist design policy. The inside is left as it is so as not to erase all the original PAPLUS® texture, and only the outside is coated with urethane to create a two-tone color.

    About the urethane coating
    The coating used this time is a urethane coating, in which black pigment is dissolved in urethane resin, and is an artificial coating that is considered harmless to the human body and conforms to the Food Sanitation Law. PAPLUS®, which has a high ratio of naturally occurring ingredients, is a little delicate to water, just like wood products, but the urethane coating increases its water resistance and reduces the speed of aging.
    In fact, the main raw material of PAPLUS®, corn-derived biodegradable resin (polylactic acid), has a property of repelling paint. We were able to solve this problem by using the undercoating technology of a partner factory that has expertise in lacquer coating, a Japanese manufacturing technique.
    *The painted parts of the recovered color variations can be peeled off with a grinder or other tool, and since the inside is not painted, only the pure PAPLUS® material can be efficiently sent to the reprocessing process.

    ■Care for Packaging
    The package is made of [chipboard], which is 100% recycled paper made from used newspapers and magazines.

    ■Warm drinks are also OK
    While many products with high purity of plant-derived ingredients do not have heat resistance, PAPLUS® Matte Tumbler Black has a heat resistance temperature of 120°C, so you can use it for warm drinks with peace of mind.

    A material that harmonizes with the earth
    About 86% of PAPLUS® Matte Tumbler Black is made of corn-derived resin and paper, which are plant-derived components.
    To these main ingredients, natural viscosity minerals (approx. 7%) and petroleum-derived additives (approx. 7%) are added to ensure the heat-resistant function. *1
    The majority of the material is decomposed into water and carbon dioxide by the action of microorganisms. *2
    *1 Please be assured that the additives used at a minimum comply with the Food Sanitation Law stipulated by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare.
    There are many eco-friendly products that do not mention additives.
    Please be aware of this.
    *2 The time and degree of decomposition will vary greatly depending on the environment, so 100% decomposition is not guaranteed.

    Recycle instead of throw away
    PAPLUS® products are incinerated if they are thrown away as garbage. However, we ask for your cooperation in collecting them as a resource and reprocessing them instead of incinerating them as garbage. Let's create a new cycle together.

    ■The process from production to collection and remanufacturing is open to the public.
    PAPLUS® Matte Tumbler Black comes with a [traceability card]. The card contains a lot number and a QR code, from which you can check the date of production, type, and the number of products collected and remanufactured on the website.
