What is Furoshiki?
Generally, furoshiki serves to wrap and transport items, showcasing its multifunctionality. Additionally, furoshiki, sized at 100cm x 100cm, offers great convenience as an eco-bag or a basket bag. Its adaptable nature allows it to conform easily to luggage shapes, ensuring stable carriage of items such as lunch boxes.
Moreover, furoshiki serves diverse purposes beyond mere wrapping, doubling as both tablecloths and wall hangings, enhancing interior spaces. Crafted from a blend of cotton and linen, furoshiki boasts the perfect blend of linen's firmness and cotton's softness, resulting in a half-linen fabric recommended for use as a scarf or shoulder strap.
Furthermore, these furoshiki pieces can be folded down into a compact size, enabling easy transportation during neighborhood shopping trips. Their washable quality ensures cleanliness, facilitating hassle-free cleaning even when soiled.
In terms of appearance, certain colors may exhibit fluffiness or neps, contributing to a rustic charm within the half-linen fabric.
Handcrafted with care in Kyoto, each piece features a [Kyo PrintⓇ] tag, affirming its dyeing and processing in Kyoto, certifying its origin as a product made in Kyoto.
Even during production, furoshiki maintains an eco-friendly approach. Through inkjet dyeing techniques, water consumption during dyeing is significantly reduced by over 90%.
