Aritayaki cups are easy to hold and feature a delicate, light coloring. They are versatile, suitable for anything from tea to coffee, and are popular among people of all ages.

This product is from Arita Porcelain Lab (Yazaemon Kiln), a long-established kiln in Arita. The surface showcases a matte texture achieved through the "brush-maki" technique, a skillful method unique to Arita porcelain. Meanwhile, the interior boasts smooth white porcelain. Modern and high-quality Arita-yaki porcelain is appreciated by individuals of all ages, both for personal use and as gifts.

Both sides of the cup are lightly indented, providing ease of grip and stability. The name "mallet" originates from the French term for "wooden hammer," reflecting its shape. The molding process, known as "mizukote," involves placing ceramic clay in a plaster mold, rotating it, and then forming the mold by sliding the clay with water while using a trowel. Once the mold dries, it is shaped by scraping. The final piece undergoes unglazing at 920 degrees Celsius for two days, followed by the application of a unique glaze on the outside using a brush. The interior is glazed, and the piece is finished by reduction firing at 1,300 degrees Celsius for three days. This tableware is a product of delicate Arita-yaki porcelain techniques and the meticulous craftsmanship of artisans.

This cup comes in three outer colors:

    • Pale pink cherry
    • Pale blue sky
    • Mint in pale green
