Rayon body sponge made from sustainable bamboo fiber.
Bamboo can be harvested in three years and is attracting attention as a sustainable material because of its rapid growth and its role in absorbing more CO2 than other plants.
According to the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), it takes more than 10,000 liters of water to produce enough cotton for one pair of jeans. This means consuming the equivalent of 10 years of drinking water for one person. In addition, commonly distributed cotton that is not organic cotton is considered environmentally hazardous because of the high use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides to efficiently produce large quantities of cotton.
Bamboo, on the other hand, is utilized as a 100% sustainable material due to its fast growth (can be harvested in 3~5 years). It also plays a role in absorbing 30% more CO2 than common plants. Bamboo cotton is an alternative fabric to cotton made from bamboo fibers that has been attracting attention in recent years.
