TSUMUGI, a project that produces paper threads from used paper resources and unused thinned wood, and Tokyo Mizuhiki, a company that plans, produces, and sells mizuhiki artwork and accessories under the theme of "Always Kokoro Hashimu" have collaborated to realize this project. Emi Nakamura, a mizuhiki artist, created various creative accessories using upcycled mizuhiki from the TSUMUGI project in order to connect the traditional techniques of mizuhiki and the global environment to the next generation.
The designs that utilize the spirit of hospitality, elegance, and gratitude that mizuhiki possesses, combined with the natural, lightweight, and soft colors of TSUMUGI, make these creative accessories blend in with everyday life.

Upcycled mizuhiki is softer than conventional mizuhiki and requires more ingenuity in the way it is tied. By combining upcycled mizuhiki, which is characterized by its simple texture, with red mizuhiki, which Tokyo Mizuhiki holds dear, we have created an accessory that is friendly and warm, while maintaining the original elegance of mizuhiki. We hope that this work will lead to more people becoming interested in upcycling and that this culture will continue to connect with the next generation.
