The smallest unit of Oguro Saburo's wooden pieces is a parent and child or a couple made of two pieces.
I wanted to express the shape of animals as living creatures with wooden materials, and came up with various combinations of shapes.
From familiar cats and dogs to elephants, lions, penguins, and more, they all snuggle up together to form an animal family.

We invite you to create your own play styles, such as story-making by arranging the animals, well-balanced piling up, and puzzle play by combining them into their original shapes.

Commitment to our products
We sell "Oguro Saburo's Kumiki" made from natural wood.
Youplan manufactures and sells [Oguro Saburo's Kumiki], which features animals drawn in simple curves that are cuddled together and divided by a shared line. When combined, they fit together with almost no gaps.
The shared line here means, for example, that the line that forms the back of one animal becomes the stomach of the other animal.

Over the past half century, Saburo Oguro has designed more than 1,000 pieces, including his most popular animal Kumiki, as well as Setsukyu dolls, Christmas dolls, stories, ascending dolls, wobbling dolls, Kumiki pictures, polycube puzzles, and many more.
These are all handcrafted by artisans, from cutting out to dyeing.
