NARADOLLHIGASHIDA's Hiina Asobi Series represents a modern expression of Hiina Asobi from the Tale of Genji, the origin of Hinamatsuri. This set features Ouchiura-sama and San-nin Kanjo (three courtesans), elegantly housed in an adorable octagonal paulownia box.

Yoshinoyama embodies modern cuteness and the delicate beauty of spring, reminiscent of Yoshino cherry blossoms. NARADOLLHIGASHIDA prides itself on being entirely handmade, employing the Nara Itto-bori technique, named after the spirit infused into each sword.

This technique involves bold carving on large wood surfaces, followed by delicate coloring using Japanese paints and gold leaf. Originating 800 years ago in Nara, Nara Itto-bori carving became an art form during the Edo period (1603-1868) under master craftsman Morikawa Toen. Hirakushi Tanaka, a prominent Japanese sculptor, was so impressed by Toen's work that he amassed a collection of Nara Itto-bori carvings.

NARADOLLHIGASHIDA carefully reexamines Nara Itto-bori carving, aiming to restore its original significance in people's daily lives, blending it harmoniously with modern design sensibilities.
