This is an early white dial of the Type A-11 issued to the Army Air Corps (U.S. Army Air Corps) and distributed to pilots as standard equipment in 1940.
Like the Longines and LeCoultre Weems type A-11s issued at the same time, it initially had a white dial. The white dial is thought to have lasted until around 1942, after which it was replaced by a black dial.
Compared to the black dial type, there were by far fewer of these watches, making this a reissue of a rare model.
