A substitute for Saran Wrap. 100% natural eco-friendly wrap that adheres perfectly to plates and foodstuffs.
Beeswax Wrap is made from 100% natural materials and is an earth-friendly alternative to Saran Wrap. Beeswax is an organic and precious natural ingredient made by bees. This is soaked generously in cotton and added with pine resin and jojoba oil, which are natural resins. This kitchen item reduces unnecessary plastic waste and prolongs the life of food.
[After opening]
After opening, rinse lightly with cold water. Because the product is rich in beeswax, it is sticky immediately after use. If it adheres to hands or objects, wash with warm water. It will become moderately sticky after repeated use.
[Directions for use]
Since beeswax softens at body temperature, use the temperature of your hands to make it adhere. Vegetables, fruits, bread, and other items below room temperature can be directly wrapped. Foods that are hot or contain oil or fat, such as raw meat or fish, should not be wrapped directly but should be placed in a dish or container and covered with plastic wrap. The use of ovens and microwave ovens is strictly prohibited.
[Washing]
Rinse in cold water and let dry naturally. If there are any stains or spots, foam a soft cloth or sponge with dishwashing detergent and gently dab the stains or spots. Scrubbing or wringing with a sponge may remove beeswax from the surface.
[Storage]
Beeswax is sensitive to heat and melts easily. We recommend storing in a refrigerator in the summer and in a room away from direct sunlight and fire in the winter. Please keep it spread out, folded in two, or rolled up, as folding it may cause the beeswax to crumble.
Clear plastic food wrap (Saran Wrap) was created in a chemical laboratory in the 1930s. It was inspired by the dregs of an experiment that stuck to the bottom of a beaker and could not be removed. The substance, which is almost impervious to water, was initially used by the U.S. military to waterproof boots and airplanes. Today, there are more than 100 different brands of food wrap, used by consumers and grocery stores around the world. Although convenient to carry, inexpensive, and extending the life of leftover food, plastic wrap has one major drawback. It exacerbates plastic pollution and is difficult to recycle. In addition, it is made from chemicals that are known to be toxic, which can have a significant impact, especially if they break down in the environment.
