    The TYPEA-11 was a design adopted by the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II, with Bulova, Elgin, and Waltham being its contractors at the time.
    Testing began in 1937, and the model was selected as standard equipment in 1940, making it a representative model of the U.S. Army Air Corps.
    The white Arabic numerals engraved on the deep black dial, like the instruments on fighter planes, are of minimal design and boast a very high level of legibility.
