    The long-awaited book of drawings by popular picture book artist, Naoko Machida, is now available!

    Naoko Machida is a popular picture book artist of today. She has created a world with depth in her picture books through her works with detailed descriptions and bold compositions.
    She has released a series of highly acclaimed works, including the ghost story picture book "I'm here, I'm not here," which was created in collaboration with Kyogoku Natsuhiko.

    Machida's motto is "If there is a chance, it is a cat. In his works, cats appear as supporting characters in fairy tales, Tono Monogatari (Tales of Tono), and many other stories that, at first glance, seem to have nothing to do with cats.
    In recent years, he has painted numerous picture books in which cats appear, astonishing viewers with his delicate brushwork.

    The cats depicted in her picture books, from their fur to their gestures, are meticulously detailed and show her keen eye for observation and compassion for the cats that live with her.
    This book includes her picture book drawings, book covers, and original picture work from her debut to her latest work!

    Naoko Machida
    Born in Tokyo in 1968. Painter and picture book author. Graduated from Musashino Art University Junior College of Art and Design.
    Her picture books include "Urashima Marou" (Akane Shobo), "Match Uri no Shojo" (Fure-berukan), and "Arashi no Iraino" and "Azuki Togi" (both from Iwasaki Shoten), a ghost story book written in collaboration with Kyogoku Natsuhiko.
    Picture books starring cats include "Nekozume no yoru" (Iwasaki Shoten), "Neko no nai neko" (Komine Shoten), "Neko to neko" (Kogumasha), and "Neko harusuban" (Holp Shuppan). She continues to draw picture books loved by many readers.
