■Sandalwood
This is the first series of the Urushima brand and has been loved for a long time. The Byakudan series of Urushima products are made with a unique "Urushi-nagashi" technique, in which gold powder is sprinkled on top of patterns drawn with gold and silver foil or powder, creating a pattern that resembles sparkling running water.

The color of the lacquer is a dark candy color immediately after it is applied, but the color changes to a lighter shade at various speeds as it is used, depending on the living environment and frequency of use. The natural material of urushi lacquer is a fun material to use and grow with, just like denim.
The upper part of the inner surface is mirror-finished, while the lower part is polished with spiral stripes, which creates a vigorous and creamy foam the moment beer is poured. The double-layered structure prevents water droplets from sticking to the cup and keeps it cool.
While taking advantage of the functionality of the stainless steel material, the lacquer finish on the outside adds a moist texture and softness to the mouth.

All of the Urushi-Polished Cups, with the exception of the "Red Fuji with Crane" series, are accompanied by coasters made of Echizen Washi, a traditional craft of Echizen City, Fukui Prefecture.

What is Echizen Washi?
Echizen Washi is Japanese paper made in the Okata River basin in the Echizen region of Fukui Prefecture. The main raw materials of washi are kozo (paper mulberry), mitsumata, and gampi, which are the inner bark fibers of the epidermis of plants.
Echizen washi is characterized by the elegant beauty of its kinari color, which stimulates the senses, and by its high quality.
