TYPE A-11 24H, used by the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II, is a rare 24-hour watch with an hour hand that completes one revolution in 24 hours. Since Japanese quartz movements do not currently produce 24-hour movements, the 505.24H movement by RONDA of Switzerland was used to create this watch, with some ingenuity in the shape of the hands.
The numerals on the indexes and the hands were colored a little brownish to give the watch an antique look.
In time, all-weather fighter planes that could attack at night or in the rain began to emerge. With the development of aircraft, the black dial and 24-hour display, the most distinctive feature of military watches, was carried over to the Vietnam War era.
