Evolving Gold Accents: Over time, the gold finish on our ceramics develops a rich patina, adding depth and character.
Heritage of NINSHU
NINSHU’s roots trace back to Ninna-ji Temple, established in 888 by Emperor Uda. This sacred site has long been a hub for Kyoto's artistic and spiritual legacy. The Omuro Kiln, founded in 1646 within the temple’s gardens, is known as the birthplace of Kyoto ware. Ceramic masters like Ninsei and Ogata Kenzan refined tea ceramics here, and their work remains a cultural treasure.
The name "NINSHU" was bestowed upon us by the 43rd head abbot of Ninna-ji, Reverend Tatsube Zuishū, symbolizing our deep connection to this sacred lineage and our commitment to preserving traditional artistry with a modern touch.
Caring for Your NINSHU Ceramics
To ensure your NINSHU ceramics last, soak them in water overnight before the first use. This simple step enhances their durability and preserves their beauty for years to come.
