The NARADOLLHIGASHIDA Hiina Series reinterprets the origin of Hinamatsuri from the Tale of Genji, infusing a modern essence. This collection is ideal as a wedding or baby shower gift or as a personal indulgence.
Yoshinoyama embodies modern cuteness and the delicate beauty of spring, reminiscent of the Yoshino cherry blossoms.
Crafted entirely by hand, NARADOLLHIGASHIDA employs the Nara Itto-bori technique, named for the spirit imbued into each sword. This method involves bold carving on large wood surfaces and delicate coloring using Japanese paints and gold leaf.
With a legacy spanning 800 years in Nara, Nara Itto-bori carving attained artistic eminence during the Edo period (1603-1868) through master craftsman Morikawa Toen's expertise. Renowned Japanese sculptor Hirakushi Tanaka revered Toen's work, assembling a notable collection of Nara Itto-bori carvings.
NARADOLLHIGASHIDA meticulously revisits Nara Itto-bori carving, aiming to revive its original essence within people's lives, integrating designs that resonate with the modern era.
The Black Karasuboshi variant is also available for male dolls.
