The inner surface has been treated with a patented "rakushibo" finish, making it less likely to get dirty and less likely to show scratches. GEL-COOL has a special technology to seal a refrigerant inside the lid, and the entire lid is frozen in a refrigerator for use. In other words, the lid becomes a refrigerant.
