    This is a thin and light wooden MUGCUP made of Japanese horse chestnut, finished on the potter's wheel and painted with brownish wipe lacquer.

    Kasho-an does not usually produce MUGCUPs made of Japanese horse chestnut with a wipe lacquer finish.
    However, in rare cases, there are some pieces that have "Knots" on the branches due to the characteristics of the wood.

    This is an irregularity, but it is a product that has been lacquered with lacquer to take advantage of the characteristics of the individual pieces. Of course, there is no problem in normal use, and the color of Urushi lacquer and the unique wood grain of horse chestnut (like a tiger's fur) appear beautifully on some pieces.
