I want to stick to the design of the cutting board! This is a cutting board for such a person. The design is reminiscent of parquet in an end grain cutting board style. It is combined with 100% solid wood by sandwiching walnut and cherry. Not only the design, but also the function as a cutting board is top quality.

[What is an end grain cutting board?]
It is a type of cutting board that is considered the highest quality product in Europe and the United States. It is so called because the cross section of the wood is called end grain.

    [Advantages]
The greatest merit of this product is that it can be designed as yosegi.
The straw-like fibers face upward, so that the blade of a knife can enter between the fibers, making it gentle to the knife. In addition, the cutting board surface is not easily damaged because the fibers soaked with oil (which serves to protect the wood) catch the knife blade, so the wood fibers are not cut when the blade is inserted.

However, fine scratches are still possible. If scratches become noticeable, please ask us to resharpen it. We will polish it free of charge. However, please bear the shipping costs for the return trip.

    [Disadvantages]
In order to take advantage of the merits, maintenance with beeswax wax is required.

    [Is it safe?]
The adhesive is Titebond III, which is FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approved and food safe in the United States.
The finish is coated with food grade mineral oil and beeswax wax for excellent water repellency.
No pigments are used to color the wood, so you can enjoy the safety and natural texture of solid wood.

    [Size]
Length: approx. 40 cm, width: approx. 25 cm, thickness: approx. 2.5 cm (excluding rubber feet)
There may be slight dimensional deviations.

    [Wood species used]
    Walnut, cherry

    [Note]
Please note that the product is also sold on other websites and may be out of stock. In this case, please understand that it may take up to one month for the product to be in stock.
Please note that the color may differ slightly between the actual product and the photo, even if the same wood is used to make the product.
The color of the product will change over time because it is made of solid wood. Please enjoy the color change as the unique taste of solid wood.
Solid wood shrinks due to seasonal differences in temperature and humidity.
It may crack, warp, or bend depending on the environment in which it is used.
Cracking and warping cannot be 100% avoided because it is a natural material.
Do not disinfect with boiling water or chlorine.
Please wash with a neutral detergent and dry naturally after wiping off the moisture with a cloth.
Please keep it indoors out of the sun to avoid warping.
Since the wooden edge is visible on the surface, it requires more care than a normal cutting board, but with proper care, it can be used for a long period of time.

    [Care]
When the water repellency of the surface of the wood has worn off, rub beeswax wax into the surface.
If you use it daily, maintenance about 2 or 3 times a week will prolong its life.
(Beeswax wax can be purchased separately.)
    - If used daily, maintenance should be done 2 or 3 times a week to prolong its life.
30 seconds of waxing with kitchen paper is sufficient.
