Designer Teruhiro Yanagihara took a hint from the phenomenon of glaze, which always occurs in the manufacturing process of porcelain, and proposed a design in which the beauty of perfection and imperfection coexist.
Based on the ancient Japanese belief that beauty resides in imperfection, he affirmed the unevenness of the glaze, which had previously been considered a failure in Arita, and created tableware with a distinctive expression.

About the designer
Teruhiro Yanagihara
Teruhiro Yanagihara was born in Kagawa Prefecture in 1976 and established his own studio in 2002. [He established his own studio in 2002 and is active in creative direction, product design, and interior design, transcending the boundaries of borders and genres based on the idea of "designing the situation of designing.
His poetic approach to design, which incorporates invisible stories and accompanies the user, has been internationally acclaimed, and he has many prestigious clients including SERGIO ROSSI (Italy), PALLUCCO (Italy), OFFECCT (Sweden), and Landscape Forms (U.S.A.). (USA), and many other prestigious clients. He has also been involved in the launch of brands as creative director, including the domestic furniture brand [KARIMOKU NEW STANDARD], the Arita porcelain brand [1616 / arita Japan], and the small leather goods brand TYP/.
