The Home Series, themed on things that accompany you when you relax in your home, was renewed in September 2023, and you can now choose from a total of 15 types. This is an illustration of earphones. When the earphones are removed from the ears, the right and left earphones look as if they are facing each other and chatting.
For the card and envelope, I wanted to offer healing to both the writer and the reader of the letter, so I combined papers that are comfortable to the touch. The card is made of a paper that is thick and firm, but has a smooth surface that is very pleasant to the touch. The corners are rounded to add gentleness. The envelopes have a strangely moist feel to the touch. The crisp white ground, like a freshly washed sheet, is embossed with a pattern that looks like a wavy cloud, and the specifications are such that you can enter a peaceful world even before you open the envelope.
I wanted to express relaxation from all angles, so I took a different approach in creating the design from the other series. I made a rough sketch of about 3 cm on a notebook that I usually use, and then enlarged it to make a clean sketch. When the designer (Taishi) doodles in the corner of the notebook, he can relax his mind and heart, so he used this method to create all the designs in order to capture that feeling.
At first glance, it looks like a simple black-and-white line drawing, but in fact, the lines throughout the entire design (including the mesh part of the earphones!) The lines are raised and puffy to the touch. We wanted the letter to have a little surprise, so we made the printing process a little more special. After silk-screen printing by hand, we apply a special powder and heat, and the inked areas are embossed to make them bulge out.
