Crafted by skilled artisans in Kyoto, these pants showcase Fauna and Flora's original fabric, a result of their years of experience and dedicated effort. The fabric is treated using a process called shio-shrink, involving salt for shrinkage.
During the shrunken fabric creation, yarn is initially woven flat on a loom. Then, the fabric is exposed to saltwater or sprinkled with salt to increase humidity. While still damp, the fabric is manipulated, causing it to shrink, resulting in characteristic wrinkles and unevenness. This process lends softness, unique luster, and texture to the fabric, making it highly appealing.
In this version, only the cotton component undergoes shrinking while the polyester does not, resulting in a soft feel with distinctive unevenness, ideal for those seeking more than ordinary pants. This one-piece design creates a significant style statement.
