This combination of plants has been used for health and beauty in Japan and other countries since ancient times. It makes both the body and mind beautiful.
Biwa leaves have been used as a tea and as a poultice, and have been very useful. Dokudami is a vigorous plant often seen in gardens and along roadsides. Also known as "Juyaku," it is used in various ways, such as in teas and lotions. Both are sure to help condition your skin.
Biwa Leaves of the Yamato Plateau
The loquat tree has a strong life force and spreads its branches toward the sky. The use of its leaves has a long history, including descriptions in Indian Buddhist scriptures dating back thousands of years. In Japan, too, they have been used for people's health since as far back as the Nara period (710-794).
Nara Uda's Dokudami
Dokudami, with its pretty white flowers and heart-shaped leaves, has been used in daily life since ancient times and was even mentioned in a book on medicinal herbs written in the Edo period (1603-1868) called Yamato Honzo. Dokudami is grown on a farm in Uda, Nara, which is rich in nature, and carefully handpicked.
