We have long wanted to create this autumn cherry blossom, but have been unable to do so.
By using "two colors of red" for the petals, we were able to create a simple design that is not monotonous and expresses the three-dimensionality of the flower.
The front side of the Autumn Cherry Blossom has a matte texture with fibers of Japanese paper remaining.
The back side is made of a thick layer of resin to make it smooth and strong.
If you look through it to the light, you can see the fibers of washi paper in the vivid red color, just like the fibers of real petals.
On a bright background, the red color is vivid.
On a darker background, the color becomes a deep, chic Bordeaux.
This is a work that is both "mature" and "cute" in a greedy way.
About the materials
Mino Washi (machine-made Japanese paper) produced in Gifu Prefecture is used for Akizakura.
Mino Washi is made by bleaching Kozo (paper mulberry), the raw material of Washi, using plenty of water from Nagara River, a clear stream in Gifu Prefecture, for a long time.
Mino Washi is made by pouring the blessings of Gifu into it.
