Thick ponzu vinegar made with a soy sauce maker on the island HOMEMAKERS made "Daidai ponzu vinegar" with a soy sauce maker on the island.
It is made simply with oranges grown without using pesticides, domestic soy sauce made by Takahashi Shoten, established in 1872, and domestic millet sugar.
It is a rich and aromatic vinegar that goes well with boiled tofu, steamed vegetables, salads, and other dishes.

Shodoshima, an island of citrus fruits
Taking advantage of the mild climate of the Seto Inland Sea, a variety of citrus fruits have been grown on Shodoshima since ancient times.
Mikan, lemon, dai dai, lime, and sudachi.
The harvesting of sudachi begins in late summer, and in October, sweet and sour unshu mikan oranges come from all over the island.
When we receive a large amount of mikan, we share them at HOMEMAKERSFarm & Cafe, saying, "Please feel free to have mikan.
In December, lemons turn yellow, and their sweet and refreshing aroma makes me drool.
One such citrus is the dai dai. The daidai is large, round, and tough.
Like lemon and yuzu, it is a fragrant and tart aromatic citrus.

Like Onshu mandarin oranges, it is not eaten as is, but rather the juice is squeezed out and used as a seasoning or made into juice.
Shodoshima Island is a major producer of daidai! It is not that Shodoshima is a major producer of dai-dai, but rather that each family has a few dai-dai planted in their fields or one in their garden, and they have been grown as a familiar citrus fruit in daily life.
It is also written as "for generations" because the fruit does not fall off the tree when ripe, and one tree has both the fruit of the previous year and the new fruit of the next year, so it is used as a lucky fruit for New Year's decoration with the wish that the family will prosper without interruption for generations to come.
In everyday life, it is often used to make homemade instant ponzu (Japanese citrus juice) by pouring the juice of the radish over sea cucumbers or adding the juice of the radish to soy sauce.
