We combined hojicha with the Kuromoji tree that grows wild in our tea garden. Kuromoji is a slender tree of the Camphoraceae family, but in the world of tea, it is famous as a high-grade toothpick for serving sweets.

It emits a sweet aroma. In the tea ceremony, it is customary to take the toothpicks home with you, but before it became customary, I think people simply wanted to take them home because they smell so good all the time.

I heard that it grows as an undergrowth of Japanese cedar and Japanese cypress, and it grows abundantly in our tea garden. We take its branches, dry them, and combine them with hojicha to create this flavored tea.

We still have a lot of kuromoji in terms of sales and harvest, but if it becomes too popular, it is inevitable that this flavored tea will become a limited-quantity product!
